Robert Thomas “Bobby” Hare

Middlesex – Robert Thomas “Bobby” Hare was born in Princess Anne County, Virginia on May 4, 1953 and entered through the gates of heaven into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 28, 2024. He and his seven siblings were raised and lived in Johnston County, NC.

Bobby was a “jack of all trades”, but no matter the job he pursued, Bobby was always known to be dependable and trustworthy. He started his employment as a carpenter which was a trade that his family was well known for. Later he was employed by ST Wooten as a foreman, and finally he built his own business as an auto mechanic where Bobby’s business served his community for over 40 years. He was hard working and generous. He loved people and always went the extra mile to help anyone in need.

He was a born again Christian and faithfully served The Lord as worship leader at Impact Church of Wilson, formerly Living Faith Church for many years.

Not only was he a dedicated and loving husband of 53 years to his wife Marie, they were each other’s best friend. They spent every waking moment together. They were playmates as children, found love early in life, and raised a beautiful family. They never once left each other’s side. Bobby was an amazing daddy, granddaddy and great-granddaddy. Nothing made him prouder than his family, and he enjoyed numerous trips to the mountains, which was his home away from home, where many lasting memories were made.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mamie Hare, and his brothers Curtis and Wayne Hare. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Hare; daughter Lisa Hare; son, Casey Hare; grandchildren, Will Thornton (Nikki), Ginger Jones (Jon), Rachel Mattress (Nolan), Heather Taylor (Tyler), 3 great grandchildren and one due in December; sisters Barbara Gurley (Roy), Helen Gurley (Raeford), Linda Stevens (Tim), Lois Stephenson, Judy Hocutt and many nieces and nephews.

    He will be missed tremendously.
