Ronald Mark McCain

Ronald Mark McCain

Mark McCain, 59, of Johnston County, North Carolina, passed away on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Rex Hospital. A lifelong resident of Johnston County, Mark most recently made his home on Holt Lake in Four Oaks, a place he dearly loved.

Mark lived life in his own way, with an independent spirit, a generous heart, and a personality all his own. An avid fisherman and hunter, he enjoyed swimming, kayaking, and relaxing on his pontoon boat.

Above all, Mark loved his family. He was a devoted son, brother, and father whose loyalty and generosity touched the lives of those around him. His son, Jacob, was the center of his world, and Mark took great pride in cheering him on at baseball and basketball games and spending time together at home.

Mark will be remembered for his resilience, his unmistakable sense of humor, his willingness to help others, and the love he gave so freely.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Ron McCain, and his cousin, Zachary Starnes.

He is survived by his son, Jacob; his mother, Sandra “Sanki”; his brother, Darren; his nephew, Blake; his former wife and dear friend, Jennifer; and other loving family members and friends.

A service to celebrate Mark’s life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Centenary United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends and visitors at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m., immediately before the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Centenary UMC at 140 E Market Street, Smithfield, NC 27577.

Online condolences may be left for the family at parrishfh.com.
