Ronald Nelson Price

With great sorrow, we announce the passing of Ronald Nelson Price – fathers, grandfather and friend. Ronald passed away suddenly on September 4, 2026 in Smithfield, NC.

He was born on August 2, 1953, he was the son of the late James Vick Price and Bessie Hatcher Price of Selma, NC. In addition to his father and mother, he is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rachel Alice Narron Price. Ronald was born in Wilson, NC and raised in Selma, NC, and in the end, lived and found happiness in Smithfield, NC, just 10 minutes from where his humble life began. He will be remembered as a kind and loving husband to Rachel, a fiercely devoted friend, and a man who hung on every word he heard about his granddaughters.

He leaves behind his children, Amanda Beth Price Jernigan and her husband Christopher Bryan Jernigan and Brandon Scott Price and his wife Kirby Dawn Messer Price; his three cherished granddaughters, Morgan Elizabeth, Bryanna Raye and Abbigayle Nicole Jernigan; his siblings, Charles Russ Price and Eileen Price Byrd and her husband Donald Byrd; as well as his very good friends, Clayburn Robinson, James Blanke, Linwood Morris and Joe Evans.

The family will receive visitors at Believers Baptist Church in Wilson’s Mills, NC, on Monday September 14, 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM which will be preceded by a memorial service starting promptly at 6:00 PM. A burial service for the family will be held at Hatcher Cemetery on Tuesday September 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
