Mr. Roy Parrish, age 80, of Raleigh Road, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Friday, January 28, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Grove OFW Baptist Church in Benson, NC.
Mr. Parrish was born on March 10, 1941 in Johnston County, NC to the late Ossie and Maude Honeycutt Parrish. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Graham Parrish; 9 half-brothers; and 2 half-sisters. Mr. Parrish owned and operated Parrish Drywall for many years prior to retirement.
Surviving include his wife of 23 years, Cathy Carroll Parrish; son, Craig Parrish; step-sons, Travis Hargis and Brandon Hargis; granddaughter, Jessica Hargis; step grandchildren, Laura Owens, Andy Price, and Logan Tart; step-great granddaughter, Alexis Denton; sister, Betsy Johnson and husband, Phillip; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Parrish will lie in state from 9:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. prior to the service on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson, NC. The family will not be present at this time.
