Sammy Jay Price

Sammy Jay Price “Pa,” 79, of Kenly, North Carolina, went to be with the Lord on November 6, 2025.  Born on September 28, 1946, to Jimmie and Alice Price, Pa grew up alongside his family, learning the value of hard work and attending Bethany Missionary Baptist Church since he was a child. He worked over 30 years for Carolina Telephone where he continuously impacted his community.

After graduating high school in 1964, he was drafted by the U.S. Army where he served two years as a Sergeant in Germany. Known for his gentle spirit and quick wit, Pa had a way of making everyone feel seen. To his grandchildren, he hung the moon, and to his family, he was the heart of every gathering.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Winnie Price; their children, Amy (Stacy) Beasley and Brent (Elizabeth) Price; four grandchildren, Savannah Beasley, Emily (Daniel) Cox, Peyton and Luke Price. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Doug Price.

A celebration of Pa’s life will be held at Bethany Missionary Baptist Church on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held in the Family Life Center after the graveside service.

The family would like to thank everyone for their generous support during this time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethany Missionary Baptist Church, 8980 Old Beulah Road, Kenly, NC 27542.

His memory will forever be a guiding light to those who loved him.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
