Benson, NC: Mr. Samuel “Sammy” Morgan Godwin, Jr., age 69, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. A Funeral Mass will be held 11:30AM Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton Grove, NC. Father Al Riquelme and Father Patrick Keane will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Godwin was born on September 3, 1952 to the late Samuel Morgan Godwin, Sr., and Louise Johnson Godwin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Godwin. Mr. Godwin was the owner and operator of Down Under Moisture Solutions, and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Newton Grove, NC.
Surviving include his wife, Sandra McLamb Godwin; daughter, Sarah Godwin Davis and husband, Carmen; grandchildren, Brewer Davis and Morgan Davis; sisters, Julia Ann Whittington and husband, Jack, and Mary Kathryn Worthington and husband, Hubert; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00PM-8:00PM- Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, NC.
