Sara Elizabeth Crawford

Sara Elizabeth Kane Crawford “Sashie,” age 95, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Springbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clayton, North Carolina.

Born on June 28, 1930, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John and Sara Kane. She was predeceased by her first husband, August Zimmerman, and her second husband, William Crawford.

Sara was an avid reader and loved to knit. She was a social butterfly who enjoyed connecting with friends and family.

She is survived by her sons, Gus C. Zimmerman and wife LaWanda, and Jeff Zimmerman and Karen; her daughter, Karen Kasem; and her beloved grandchildren, Gus D. Zimmerman and wife Megan, Russell Kasem and wife Kate, and Doug Kasem and wife Yami.

Sara will be remembered for her warmth, creativity, and joyful spirit.
