Ms. Sarah “Jenette” Baker, age 85, of Newton Grove passed away Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Rolling Ridge Assisted Living, Newton Grove with her family by her side. Her grave side service will be held Tuesday, October 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery with Rev. Debora Stilley officiating.
Jennette was born on May 7, 1938 to the late Harvey and Ruth King Murphy. She loved her flower beds, gardening, watching family feud. She love the mountatins and the beach and always had a good joke to tell. She was always hardworking, had a beautiful smile. She loved a Mt. Dew and a Little Debbie snack.
Jennette was preceded in death by her loving husband: James Lewis Baker, Sr., her parents: Harvey and Ruth King Murphy, sisters: Hettie Whitfield and Carolyn Harwell and her brothers: Clatyon Murphy and Harvey Charles Murphy.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, James Lewis Baker, Jr., and wife Monia Clark Baker, and daughter, Paula Baker Best and husband Greg Allen Best. Grandchildren, Sarah Best Lee and husband Blake, Travis Clark Baker, Lela Megan Best, Jessica Lynn Baker and Isaac James Best. Surviving sisters: Shirley Lee, Margaret Nelms, Joyce Newcomb, Lynn Weeks and Ann Crawford. A special sister-in-law and best friend, Lela Jean Jackson.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the staff of Rolling Ridge Assisted Living for all the love and compassion shown to our mother and family over the past five years.
