Dunn, NC: Ms. Sharon Ann Barefoot Ivey, age 63, of Bryant Pond Road, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Duke University Hospital in Durham. Funeral Services will be held-6:00 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Benson Pentecostal Holiness Church in Benson. Officiating will be Revs. Mark Fields, Jonathan Daniels, and Pastor Cha Parker. Graveside Service will be 1:00PM Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
Ms. Ivey was born on May 7, 1959 in Harnett County to Joyce Ann Hudson Barefoot of Dunn and the late James Moody Barefoot, Sr. Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Moody “Jimbo” Barefoot, Jr. Ms. Ivey worked in the service and hospitality industry for over 25 years. She was a member of Benson Pentecostal Holiness Church. Ms. Ivey enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling every chance she could especially to the beach.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her children, Brandon Herring and wife, Chasity of Meadow, Shandon Herring and wife, Kelly of Durham, Leigh Ann Ivey Hardee and husband, Dylan of Dunn; grandchildren, James Cole, Reagan Cole, Aubrey Herring, Evelyn Herring, Harper Herring, Tennyson Herring, and Lincoln Herring; brother, Jack Barefoot of Dunn; special niece, Amber Barefoot and several special cousins.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service on Wednesday evening and other times at the home.
