Benson, NC: Ms. Shelby Grey Barefoot, age 84, of Bear Road passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at UNC Johnston Health Hospital in Clayton surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held 3:00PM Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Revs. Leon Tart and Doug Abel will officiate. Burial will follow in the Barefoot Family Cemetery in Benson.
Ms. Barefoot was born on October 25, 1938 in Cumberland County to the late June Eston and Ada Moore Barefoot. She retired from Johnston Memorial Hospital after 21 years as a CNA.
Survivors include her children, Darlene Bain of Dunn, Danny Myers and wife, Anita of Dunn, Gale Myers and wife, Scarlette of Benson; step-son, Richard Myers of Dunn; grandchildren, Daniel Myers and wife, Kristy, Candace Bentley, Brittany Myers and special friend, Matthew Jackson, Savanna Myers, Olivia Myers, Jennifer Roycoft; great-grandchildren, Peyton Myers, Alaina Bentley, Taylor Murray, Twin Baby Boys due in January.
The family will receive friends from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Monday, July 31, 2023 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of Gale and Scarlette Myers, 745 Bear Road Benson, NC 27504.
