Selma- Shirley Jean Corbett Johnson, age 85, passed away at her home in Selma on Friday, July 29, 2022. Born in Johnston County on July 23, 1937, she was a daughter to the late William Ivey Corbett and Jessie Mae Bailey Corbett.
Shirley loved to cook and enjoyed her shopping at Walmart. Most of all, she loved her family and being a granny.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm, just prior to the service.
In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by brother, Robert Edward “Jimmy or Shrimp” Corbett; sisters, Evelyn Christine Johnson; and Iva Mae Corbett.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, John Harold Johnson of Selma, NC; son, Timothy Harold Johnson and girlfriend Angel Evans Worley of Lucama, NC; daughter, Sherry Teresa Johnson Burkett and husband Rick of Ohio; grandchildren, Brandy Johnson and husband Devin of Kenly, NC; and great grandchildren, Kayla, Preslee, Hayden, Cael, Emerson, and Skylar.
