Shirley M. Campbell 79, of Kenly, passed away peacefully Monday August 26, 2024, surrounded by family in her daughter’s home in Elizabeth City NC. She was born July 6, 1945, in Wilson, NC to the late Luther and Ruth Campbell.
Shirley was a vigorous lifelong gardener with a variety of different flowers. She loved to share her wealth of knowledge of gardening and baby plants to others. She was very fond of the beautiful butterflies that were attracted to the numerous flowers in her garden.
Shirley was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Shirley is survived by her children Jonny Cottle of Four oaks, Leisa (Rico) Soria of Elizabeth City, Her Brother Hugh (Evelyn) Campbell of Kenly, Sister Sue Haswell of Selma, Grandchildren Mac Johnson, Colt Burns. Kala Burns, Jessica Cottle, and five great grandchildren. Along with several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday September 8th, 2024, for family and close friends at Shirleys family home in Kenly NC.
