Kenly – Stacy Norwood Howell Sr., age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 3, 2024 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. He was born in Wayne County on March 20, 1937 to the late Floyd Richard Howell Sr. and Rosa Taylor Howell. In addition to his father and mother, he is also preceded in death by a daughter in law, Amy Weaver Howell; siblings, Floyd Howell Jr., Nevell Howell, Donald Howell, Thelma Howell Peedin, Guy Howell, Joyce Ann Howell Hawley, Dwight Howell.
The family will receive visitors in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Friday March 8, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will follow the visitation in the chapel on Friday at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow the chapel service in Kenly Cemetery.
Mr. Howell is survived by his wife, Patricia Porter Howell; daughter, Georgie Howell Wall and husband James of Angier; son, Stacy Norwood Howell Jr., of Kenly; daughter, Deana Howell Abernathy and husband David, of Selma; grandchildren, Blake Wall and wife Hunter, Barrett Wall List and husband Dalton, Seth Abernathy, Reagan Abernathy; great grandchildren, Jett Wall, Tripp List, Braelyn List (due June 2024); brother, Worth Howell and wife Linda; lots of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Howell attended Niagara Pentecostal Holiness Church and loved operating equipment, refurbishing tractors, and had a heart for helping people. He loved spending time outdoors and could fix anything.
