SuAnne Davis Rollain 84, of Clayton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 17th, 2024. She was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, on October 24th, 1939, to the late Joseph and Martha Davis. In addition to her parents, Suanne is preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Davis II and her husband, Philip Rollain.
SuAnne was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Her life was defined by her unconditional love for her family and her ability to be a cheerleader in life to those around her. She was most often described as a “lovely” woman by her friends and neighbors.
For many years SuAnne attended St. Ann Catholic Church in Smithfield and became well loved by her community there. She loved to take opportunities to volunteer at the church and participate in the choir. Her strong faith in God carried her through difficult times and she used that strength to encourage those around her.
SuAnne left a piece of her heart in the many places she had traveled to in the RV with her husband, Phillip. She had a great love for travel and the arts and had a story to tell about any place you could point to on the map. She had a big heart for her animals and took pleasure in sharing photos and stories about them.
She leaves behind many who will miss her dearly including her four children, Michael Cheek and fiancé Melanie Joy, Todd Cheek and wife Eva Cheek, Shannon Cheek and wife Patricia Cheek, Heather Cheek, and her five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 24, 2024, for a viewing from 2:00pm – 3:00pm in the chapel of McLaurin Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow from 3:00pm – 4:00pm.
