Kenly – Sue Lucas Edwards, age 75, passed away Friday July 1, 2022 at the SECU Hospice house in Smithfield. She was born in Wilson County on April 7, 1947 to the late Wade Lucas and Sallie Mercer Lucas. In addition to her mother and father, she is also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Lucas and a sister, Barbara Smith.
A celebration of life will take place in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Wednesday July 6, 2022 at 11 AM. The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home following the service.
Mrs. Edwards is survived by husband of 30 years, Bruce Edwards of Kenly; son, Andy Ferrell and wife Laura of Cary; daughter, Shannon Maroun of Clayton; step daughter, Stephanie Capps and husband Garry of Kenly; brother, Jimmy Lucas and wife Jo of Newport; sister, Judy Holland and husband Jimmy of Black Creek; grandchildren, KJ Stancil, Luke Stancil, Bella Maroun, Savanna Shallcross, Summer Ferrell; step grandchildren, AJ Edwards, Storm Capps, Chase Capps; step great grandchildren, Allen Edwards, Joseph Edwards and Waylon Capps.
Mrs. Edwards loved to fish, camp, dance, listen to music, decorate for party’s and craft in her spare time. She also enjoyed attending baseball and football games that her grandchildren participated in.
