Sybil June Jones

Sybil June Jones, 86, of Selma NC passed away in the early hours on October 16, 2026 at the SECU Hospice House, Smithfield, N.C. 

Sybil was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be remembered for her caring heart and her love for her family. She believed in helping others and lived by the simple but meaningful principle that if she had something, she was willing to share it with someone in need.

Sybil served as an EMT in Sampson County, North Carolina, for many years, dedicating her time to caring for others and helping people during times of need. Her compassion extended beyond her work and into her everyday life. She loved her family dearly, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy.

Sybil was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Thornton and Tempie Thornton; her late husband, Eddie Howard Jones and MT Wall; her son, Ricky Howard Jones; and her siblings Daisy, Wilma, Hubert, and Leon.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Robbie Jones; her surviving siblings, Billy and Jimmy; six grandchildren; more than fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and loved ones who will continue to hold her close in their hearts.

Sybil’s life was a reflection of kindness, generosity, and love. She was the kind of person who would give what she had to help someone else. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she created, the lives she touched, and the love she gave will live on through the generations of her family.

Sybil will always be loved, forever missed, and lovingly remembered.
