Talmadge Michael Massengill

Smithfield – Talmadge Michael “Mike” Massengill, age 63, passed away Monday November 24, 2025 at his home in Smithfield. He was born in Johnston County on July 29, 1962 to the late Talmadge Junior Massengill and Louise Prince Massengill. In addition to his father and mother, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Inez Massengill; son, George Russell Bassan.

The family will receive visitors at Parrish Funeral Home on Sunday November 30, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM. A graveside service will follow the visitation on Sunday at 2:00 PM in Hills of the Neuse Memory Gardens.

He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Jean Cardona and husband Fernando; sisters, Carolyn Lee, Danny Lee, Frances Willis; grandchildren, Jeremy Wayne Hopkins and wife Veronica, Kristian Hopkins and wife Haley, Bryce Xavier Godwin, and Gerge Russell Bassan Jr.; special friend, Mike Futch.

Mike enjoyed fishing, watching Gunsmoke, motorcycles and sports cars.
