Deceased Date: 08/30/2023
Ted Wayne Daughtry, age 82, died peacefully, with his family by his bedside, following complications of a stroke. He was born June 7, 1941 in Johnston County to the late William Herbert and Margaret Louise Pilkington Daughtry and was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorine Johnson Daughtry on May 26, 2013 and his sister, Sharon Daughtry Harris and sister-in-law, Rachel Johnson Daughtry, both earlier this month.
He was a man that was not afraid of work. For more than 30 years, he was a salesman with Stevens Sausage during the day and in the evenings, he would lay carpet, daring his customers to try to find the seams. He enjoyed League Bowling for many years and most recently traveling with the Clayton Travel Club. Ted was also a faithful member of Sanders Chapel United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2023, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Deryle Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, beside Lorine. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 just prior to the funeral service.

Wolbert and husband Mike of Smithfield; Step-son, Shawn Langdon of Smithfield; step-daughter, Sharon Nolan of Porter, TX; brother, Ned Wilson Daughtry of Smithfield; four grandchildren, Meredith Rabil and Morgan Rabil both of Smithfield and Riley Daughtry and Seth Daughtry both of Durham and three step-grandchildren, Kay Leigh Nolan, Kate Lynn Nolan and Jack Nolan all of Porter, TX.
