Micro – Teddy “Ted” Columbus Morgan, age 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 15, 2024, in the SECU Hospice House of Smithfield, surrounded by his loving family. Born, March 13, 1939, in Nash County, he was a son of the late Henry Columbus Morgan and Bessie Morgan. He is preceded in death by his brother, James Wilbur Morgan (wife Dixie), sister, Faye M. Cone (husband Kenneth) and his sister-in-law, Susie Smith Clarke.
Ted was also nicknamed “Ralph” by his daughter Tiffany, whom he nicknamed, Gretchen. Ted was a member of Micro Original Free Will Baptist Church for many years. During his career he worked for 32 years at Westinghouse Manufacturing Co. Afterwards, he worked for 30 years as a courier for both Triangle First Bank and K.S. Bank. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, watching drag racing and Nascar races and napping. Ted was a loving husband, daddy, diddy, pa, papa and uncle. He will be missed by all his family, including his church family.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the burial to follow in the Smith Family Cemetery in Micro. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sandra Smith Morgan, son, Stephen H. Pate Jr. (friend, Shannon Chapman) of Micro, daughters, Tiffany Pate Franks (Christopher) of Holly Springs, Audra Kim Morgan (friend, Sharon Jones) of Rolesville, brother, Benny Morgan (Jeannette) of Middlesex, sister, Emily Morgan Kelly of Middlesex, brothers-in-law, L.C. Smith (Helen) of Micro, Bill Clarke (Betty) of Pine Level, grandson, Lance Kelbaugh (Briel) of Cary, special grandchildren, Andrew Chapman (Emily), Matthew Chapman, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
