Teresa Smith Raynor

Teresa Smith Raynor, age 68, passed away on the evening of Wednesday March 18, 2026 after a period of declining health.

Born on October 15, 1957, in Johnston County, Teresa was the daughter of the late Marvin Ray and Mary Ruth Hocutt Smith. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald Smith and Mac Smith; her sisters, Rudine Smith, Rose Creech, and Jean Richardson.

Teresa devoted over thirty years of her life to caring for children in her home, loving and nurturing each one as if they were her own. She found great joy in watching them grow and flourish. In more recent years, her greatest happiness came from spending time with her grandsons, who were the light of her life.

She is survived by her loving husband, Bobby Louis Raynor; her daughters, Amanda Raynor Foxworth and husband, Clay, of Selma, and Amber Leigh Raynor of Pine Level; her brother, Eddie Smith and wife, Deborah, of Selma; her sisters, Evelyn S. Campbell and husband, Hugh, of Kenly, Elaine S. Morgan and husband, Jim, of Snow Hill, and Kaye S. Worrells of Selma; her sister-in-law, Lisa R. Davis of Pine Level; and her cherished grandsons, Benjamin Foxworth, Carson Foxworth, and Jordan Foxworth, all of Selma. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home, and at other times at the home.
