Thomas Ray Horton, 46, of Benson passed away at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. He was born in Johnston County to the late Willie Carl Horton and Joyce Thompson Horton.
Mr. Horton loved working on cars. He was a big UNC fan, especially basketball. He enjoyed cooking, especially when it was for his family. Mr. Horton was a special and loyal caregiver for his mother before she passed. The character “Goofy” was close to his heart. He loved his family very much and that included his canine companions, Jack and Gator.
He is survived by a son, Thomas Ray Horton, Jr. of Princeton; daughter, Makayla Horton of Princeton; brother, Willie Carl Horton, Jr.; sister, Betty Wescott (Duffy Ivey) of Benson; nieces, Anna Horton and Michelle Pearsall; and a nephew, Jeremy Wescott.
The family will receive friend from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations in Princeton.
The funeral will be at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Casey Funeral Home and Cremations Chapel with the Reverend Donald Massey officiating.
