Tony Blake Hamilton

    Birth Date: 12/15/1955
    Deceased Date: 12/21/2022

Four Oaks, NC: Tony Blake Hamilton, age 67, of Skinner Road passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at his residence surrounded by an immense amount of love after a courageous fight with esophageal cancer. A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM-Friday, December 23, 2022, at Centenary United Methodist Church in Smithfield. Officiating will be Revs. Steve McElroy and Sam Blackman.

Tony was born on December 15, 1955, in Johnston County to the late Donald Lee and Mary Alice Blake Hamilton. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Don Hamilton, and Wayne Hamilton.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Kathryn Britt Hamilton; sons, Nicholas Blake Hamilton and wife, Samantha of Benson, John Yates Hamilton of Four Oaks; daughter, Taylor Hamilton Mitchell and husband, Blake of Smithfield; granddaughter, Brinkley Hamilton; brother, Richard Hamilton and wife, Lori of Smithfield; sister, Melanie McCullen of Clayton; many nieces and nephews.

Tony created love and friendship by gathering friends and family around a table, a grill, or basically any place a plate could be served. Visitors came from all over and they could count on him to always have plenty of food, beverages, and stories to share. Tony was a kind, humble, and genuine man who had an unwavering love and dedication for his family and friends. He was a conservationist who loved fishing, the outdoors, Holts Lake, and sharing the woods while hunting with his children and friends. He was an avid sports fan, especially when he was watching his children, granddaughter or beloved Tarheels play. Through the years, the family had many cherished dogs, but rescue dogs Shea and Louie were his constant companions throughout this great battle.
Tony spent many years in the logging and timber business, and then realized that feeding people was more of his passion (and not half as hard on his knees). He especially loved BBQ and owned and operated the White Swan in Pine Level. Along with his family, he brought good food and joy to those around him.
