He is survived and loved by, his wife, Flor Adams of the home; and a son Daniel Adams and wife Rachel of Garner, NC.
Visitation will be held at Dunn Funeral Home of Benson on Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 10:00 – 10:50 AM. His Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home chapel.
Travis was known for being a caring, hardworking man who worked long days and nights. He was the kind of person who would help anybody. He was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness and his favorite scripture was Revelations 21:3-4. He was a farmer who said he had a “love/hate relationship” with farming and the weather, referring to it as “legalized gambling”. He really enjoyed fishing, especially surf fishing. His favorite fishing spots were in Portsmouth and the Outer Banks.
It took several years, but in 2000, Travis was able to finish the home he built for his family. He worked on the masonry, foundation, electric and plumbing by himself. Travis would create and invent things, he would call it “redneck engineering”. He was a jack of all trades.
Travis loved animals, cats, dogs, squirrels, and doves, any animal was safe in his yard.
But most of all, he loved his family and he will be missed.
Dunn Funeral Home of Benson is honored to serve the Travis Ray Adams Family.
