Twyleen Gibson, aged 76, died Friday, November 22, 2024, at Four Oaks Senior Living Facility in Four Oaks, NC. She is survived by her children, Don Brewer, Cynthia Sullivan, and Steven Brewer, Anne Perry and her grandchildren Laura Morales, Zachary, Cameron, Matthew and Brandon Brewer, and Sarah Weese. She is preceded in death by her parents, Milford and Thelma Purdy, and her loving husband, Maynard Gibson and step-daughter, Myra Cutter.
Twyleen was a devoted wife and mother and longtime member of the Philadelphia Church of God. She was an accomplished musician who offered her services as pianist for church service hymns and choir. Humble and generous, on many occasions through the years, she used her talents to create beautiful wedding gowns, bake wedding cakes, host campouts and bon voyage parties for friends and family. As a quiet woman, she filled every space with warmth and kindness and was easily found wherever she may go by her booming, joyful laughter.
She suffered with Alzheimer’s for over ten years, and fought to stay with her loved ones until every one of her living children could say goodbye. She will be dearly missed but is finally at peace and may soon see her husband and her daughters, Charlotte, Cheryl, and step daughter Myra. There will not be a memorial or funeral, but she will be grieved privately by her family at this time.
