Mrs. Vada Williams Pittman, age 88 of Selma, passed away on Monday, February 20, 2023 at Kitty Askins Hospice in Goldsboro.
Mrs. Pittman was born July 29, 1934 in Johnston County, to the late Herman Williams and Lona Stanley Williams. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by all of her siblings; daughter, Sue Langston Collier; and her grandchildren, Brian Tew, Michael Tew, Susan Tew Barnes, and Steve Langston.
She is survived by her son, Edward Langston Jr. of Selma; daughter, Debbie Langston Granillo of Pine Level; 4 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Pittman was a seamstress for over 25 years, enjoyed spending time with her family, and gardening in her flower beds. Her desire was to take care of the flowers in heaven when she left this earth.
The family would like to thank her loving caretaker, Kimberly Parker for the love and companionship she provided to their mother for months prior to her passing, and to also recognize the “angels” at Kitty Askins Hospice for the exceptional care and support given to her the last 3 weeks of her life. There are no words to describe the love and appreciation felt towards these people.
A graveside service will be held Friday, February 24, at 2:00 P.M. at the Pittman Family Cemetery on Pittman Road, Micro, NC.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice in Goldsboro, NC.
