    Vicki Sharon Timberlake Jones, age 82, died peacefully, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, in the SECU Hospice House of Smithfield. Vicki was born on March 15, 1943, in Los Angeles, CA, to her parents Willie and Mary Timberlake. She grew up in the Los Angeles metro area, and graduated Centennial High School of Compton, CA, in 1961. She met her future husband, Thomas Huffstatler, while at Centennial and they were married in 1962. Later, she would find herself in the role of a resilient, single mother raising her children alone. On May 20th, 1977, Vicki married Elton “Buck” Junior Jones. Elton had two daughters from a previous marriage and they joyfully grew into a family of five.

    Vicki worked in several jobs providing customer service with long stays at Automobile Club of America, Sensor Medics as well as others. She loved her work and the interaction it brought with a wide variety of people. In 1995, Vicki and Elton retired to Princeton, North Carolina building a home that they loved. They enjoyed working and growing a bountiful garden of fruits, vegetables, pecans and more. Vicki loved spending time with family and friends, bible study and fellowship, and handcrafts such as needlepoint, embroidery and crochet. She especially enjoyed crochet with her ladies’ group while creating items for donation to Mariners abroad, baby blankets and more.

    Vicki is survived by her son and daughter in-law, Michael and Kathy Huffstatler of Burns, TN; her daughter and son in-law, Cheryl and Tim Furey of Oconomowoc, WI; her daughter and son in-law, Debbie and James Gibert of Mission Viejo, CA; her bonus daughter, Georgina Jones of Charlotte, NC; her bonus daughter and son in-law, Nannette and Andy Milligan of Pikeville, NC. Vicki was also blessed with nine grandchildren: Kyle Huffstatler, Kaytee Furey, Josh Gibert, Megan Gibert, Clinton Crosby, Paulina DeLabio, Phillip Junior DeLabio, Andrew Milligan and Tara Milligan. Additionally, Vicki has five great-grandchildren: Phillip Trey DeLabio, Xandra Edwards, Lacey Furey, Olivia Furey, River Gibert and many nieces and nephews.

    She is preceded in death by her husband, Elton “Buck” Jones, parents, Willie and Mary Timberlake, sisters; Bonnie (Timberlake) LaSpina, Violet (Timberlake) Claud, grandson, Phillip Junior DeLabio.

    Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma with the burial to follow in the Fellowship United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
