Virginia Brandal Twigg age 86, passed away on Monday, December 27, 2021 after an extended illness. Virginia was born on August 27, 1935 in Chignik Lagoon, Alaska to the late Alec and Beulah Brandal. She was preceded in death by her brother Alec Brandal, sister Florence Skonberg, and son Dennis Twigg.
Virginia (Ginny) is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, David C. Twigg, daughter Deborah Van Houten, son David E. Twigg and daughter Darlene Hicks. She was also a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Ginny treasured every moment with her family. She was a loving wife, dedicated mother, and a proud and doting grandmother to her grandchildren. She was an avid gardener with a green thumb. Everything she planted thrived and was beautiful. Ginny was also a talented cook in the kitchen and was most famous for her homemade fritters and fried chicken. She enjoyed going for walks and reading her Bible. If you knew Ginny, then you knew how big her heart was. She was always thinking of others first whether it was giving food to a homeless person or giving you something that you happened to mention you liked. Virginia was a beautiful, strong, loving and courageous woman. She loved Jesus and was always sharing the Good News of the Gospel with others. We rejoice that she is in Heaven because of her faith in Jesus Christ.
A private service will be held for the family on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Underwood Funeral Home. A public memorial service will be held at Shadow Ridge Baptist Church in Holly Springs on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 2:00 pm.
