Virginia Lee Norris Braswell, age 81, died Wednesday evening, May 22, 2024 at her home. Born September 2, 1942 in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Ronnie Lee and Lillie Pilkington Norris. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil E. Braswell on September 8, 2003; son-in-law Jackie Watkins; great grandson, Jackson; sisters, Gertrude Narron, Jean Gravelle, Helen Beaudet, Louise Minshew, Clara May Minshew, Grace Lee and Alice Turner and brothers, Thomas Norris and Johnny Norris.
Virginia worked with Johnson and Johnson manufacturing and associated companies for 33 years. She attended Live Oak Baptist Church and later Divine Crossings. Her family was her life and she devoted much of her time to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was loved by many and was always helping others.
The family will receive friends Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the Parrish Funeral Home from 10:00 – 11:00 am. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 am in Selma Memorial Gardens. Her brother, Mr. Jerry Norris will officiate.
Surviving are her son, Cecil Edward “Eddie” Braswell, Jr. of Four Oaks; daughter, Teresa Lee (Watkins) and her husband, Hyrum Lee of Wake Forest; brothers, Larry Norris, James Norris, David Norris, Jerry Norris, Bill Norris and Alan Norris; sisters, Judy Farnall and Sandra Norris; grandchildren, Jason Braswell and his wife Amber and their sons, Ethan and Evan, Jeremy Braswell and his wife Jessica and their children, Caylee, Joel and Levi, Virginia Watkins and her daughters, Olivia and Jacklyn and Savannah Braswell and her mother and uncle Diana Narron and Mike Strickland.
