Selma – Walter Lee Heath (Bill) age 90, passed away peacefully on Friday July 28, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born April 24, 1933 in Johnston County to the late William Tunnel Heath and Annie Mae Heath. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife Glenda Heath; 11 siblings; brothers in law, Wayne Faison, Billy Pulley and Jimmy Pulley.
He is survived by six children; Pam Heath of Princeton, Tim Heath and wife Brenda of Four Oaks, Tammy Pierce and husband Bill of Selma, Terry Heath and wife Debbie of Selma, Tony Heath and wife Brenda of Wilson, Ashley Stanley and husband Coy of Micro; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren, sisters in law Jewel Faison and Linda Pulley, both of Selma.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday August 2, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8 :00 PM at Parrish Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home on Thursday August 3, 2023 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow the service on Thursday in Selma Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Heath worked for many years as a diesel mechanic for Ready Mix Concrete. He retired from Ready Mix at the age of 62 and he then had a small engine repair business at his home for many more years to come. He stopped working several years ago to help care for his ailing wife who passed away October 1, 2022.
Mr. Heath was a very faithful Christian man who shared his faith and the love of Jesus Christ with everyone he met.
