William David Parson, 90, of Dunn, passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at the Carrolton of Dunn, surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Parson was born on September 30, 1933, in Sampson County to the late Blake Parson and Eva Thornton Parson. He was a hard-working man, he retired after 32 years of working at the Erwin Mills as a boiler operator. He enjoyed building things, tinkering with machines, taking apart and reassembling machines, eating and John Deere. Most of all, he loved his family.
William is preceded in death by a brother, Carlton Parson; and sisters, Idell Daughtry, Louise Naylor, and Joyce Westbrook.
He is loved and survived by his wife of 69 years, Marie Parson; a son, Ricky Parson of Dunn; grandchildren, Brandon Parson and wife Tiffanie of Erwin and Nicki Tart and husband Jeremy of Coats; great-grandchildren, Sophia Parson and Fiancé Anthony of Coats, Michael Parson of Dunn, Addison Tart of Coats, and Blake Tart of Coats; sisters, Janice Lee of Leland and Adell Britt of Rocky Mount. He is also loved by many nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, at West & Dunn Funeral Home of Erwin from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm. Funeral Service to follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor James “Buddy” Smith officiating.
The family will be receiving family and friends at the home of Sophia Parson at 462 E. Stewart Street, Coats, NC, 27521.
Mr. Parson will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Cemetery of Newton Grove, NC.
