William “David” Wise

William “David” Wise, 46, of US Hwy. 13 South, Mt. Olive passed away Thursday, August 20, 2026. David was born March 31, 1980 to the late Horace K. Wise and Teresa H. Wise. He was born at Sampson Regional Hospital and spent the remainder of his life living on US Hwy. 13 South.

When David passed he crossed the finish line in first place as the winner. From a race car to a rock star you could find David working on that Ford Maverick or the Ford Ranger in the shop. His passion was turning wrenches and ratchets. Or you could find him jamming out to some Skynard, Hank or to some Tesla and some other great genres of music. David was very successful throughout his life from a welding student to a welding teacher at Wayne Community College, sharing and embracing his passion for welding.

Left to cherish his memories are his Mother; Teresa Hood Wise, Grandmothers; Gladys Wise and Edna Hood, Grandfathers; Roney Wise and Carroll Hood. Brother; Hunter Carroll Tripp and numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the funeral home in his memory.
