Four Oaks, NC: Mr. William Donald Browning, Sr., age 90 died Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Barbour’s Chapel Advent Christian Church, Four Oaks. Rev. Rodney Britton will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Browning was born on January 18, 1933 in Johnston County to the late Archie L. and Zadie Massengill Browning. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Mae Blackmon Browning; a grandson, Joshua Clint Browning; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Hinnant; brothers and sisters, Clifton Browning, Siddie Browning, Douglas Browning, Hugh Browning, Thurston Browning, D. H. Browning, Agnes Summerset, Ivey Tart, and Lois Allen.
Mr. Browning retired from Jerold Corporation as a sports wear pattern design manager and was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Barbour’s Chapel Advent Christian Church in Four Oaks.
Surviving are his daughter, Cathy Webb and husband, Donald; son, William D. Browning Jr. and wife, Teresa; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:45 PM to 2:45 PM Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Barbour’s Chapel Advent Christian Church in Four Oaks, and other times at the home.
Flowers are welcome; however, the family suggest memorials to Barbour’s Chapel Advent Christian Church, 164 Barbour’s Chapel Church Road, Four Oaks, NC 27524.
