William “Mike” Billings, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away on June, 12th 2024 at the age of 65.
Mike is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Paula Billings, who stood by his side through all of life’s joys and challenges. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. He was a proud father of two sons, Michael Billings (Sabrina and Damien) of Willow Spring, NC and Jonathan Billings of Willow Spring, NC. Mike is also survived by his sisters Beverly Crawford of Warner Robins, GA, Vikki Homan (Richard) of Anchorage, AK, Charolette Wall of Kathleen, GA, Janet Skavlem (Brett) of Warner Robins, GA, Leisa Holmes (Cecil) of Warner Robins, GA, sister-in-law Karen Kaszowski of Raleigh, NC and many nephews and nieces that he loved and adored.
Mike was born on September 22, 1958 in Simi Valley, CA to the late Charlie and Ruby Billings. He retired from the City of Macon, GA after 15 years and dedicated 20 years of his life to serving the Town of Cary, NC, where he retired from this past October. A respected and cherished member of the Cary community, Mike leaves behind a legacy of public service that everyone should strive for and the love for his family will be remembered by all who knew him. His commitment and hard work left a lasting impact on the community and his colleagues, and all will remember him for his dedication, patience, and unwavering loyalty.
Mike’s love for his sons was boundless, and he took great pride in their accomplishments and the men they have become.
One of Mike’s greatest joys in life was his grandson, Damien. He adored spending time with Damien and watching him grow. The bond they shared was special, and Damien will always carry the memory of his grandfather in his heart.
Mike’s family, friends, and community will forever remember his kindness, generosity, and the warmth he brought to every room. His legacy of service and love will live on through those he touched.
The Billings family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Mike’s memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew him.
