Benson, NC: Mrs. Alene Blackmon McLamb, age 96 of 2665 NC HWY 50 S. passed away Saturday at Golden Years Nursing Center in Falcon. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Unity Advent Christian Church. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery Rev. Jason Hudson and Mrs. Judy Keene will officiate.
Mrs. McLamb was born March 21, 1921 in Johnston County to the late Nathan and Lula Holmes Blackmon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Allen McLamb, daughter, Linda Sue Johnson, son, Allen Rayvon McLamb, sisters, Eloise B. Wood and Irene B. Wood; brothers, Shelton Blackmon, James Blackmon and Atlas Blackmon. Mrs. McLamb was homemaker. She was a founding and faithful member of Unity Advent Christian Church where she served in many capacities.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Glenn and Kay McLamb of Benson and Danny Ray and Connie McLamb of Four Oaks; grandchildren and spouses, Shelia and Glenn Jernigan, Kimberly and Chris Pope, Connie Sue and Connie Bass, Alan and Wendy Johnson, Rhonda Allen, Ashley and Charisse McLamb, Scott and Amanda McLamb, Monica and Kevin Hardison and Danette and Brandon Lee; 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mildred Blackmon of Benson; many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM Monday at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson and other times at the home of Robert Glenn and Kay McLamb, 440 Morgan Road, Benson, NC 27504.
