    Angier, NC: Mrs. Alice McGee Cox, age 88, of Greenleaf Road in the McGee’s Crossroads community died Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

    Funeral Services will be 2:00PM Sunday, December 6, 2020 at the Rose & Graham Funeral Home Chapel in Benson. Officiating will be Pastor Scott Betts and Dr. Billy Cashwell. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens in Dunn.

    Mrs. Cox was born March 16, 1932 in Johnston County to the late Alton and Floy Velma McGee. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Reece Cox; sisters and brothers, Annie Merle Hodges, Joyce Ferle Southerland, Brenda Verle Taylor; brothers, James Earl McGee, Robert Sherrill McGee, Elder Alton Derle McGee, and Eugene Harold McGee. Mrs. Cox was a member of Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and retired from Data General. Mrs. Cox was a life long member and former President of the American Legion Auxiliary Banner Post 109. She loved flowers and took pride working in her yard. Mrs. Cox was a loving mother, grandmother “MeeMaw”, great-grandmother, and a friend to all.

    Surviving are her children, Pat Cox Penny and husband, David Harold of Benson, Jimmy Cox and wife, Geneva of Clayton, Pam Cox Parrish and husband, Randy of Angier, Teresa Cox Batten and husband, Doug of Four Oaks, and Tabatha Cox Barbour and husband, Joe Barry of Benson; grandchildren, Davey Penny and wife, Angel, Brandon Batten and wife, Jessica, Jonathan Cox and wife, Kylie, Keri Penny, Shannon Beasley and husband, William, Allison Nelms and husband, Ryan, Taylor Allen and husband, Chason, Matthew Parrish and wife, Lauren, Kris Johnson and husband, Lane, Katie Barbour, and Cameron Barbour; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Mavis Pearl Johnson of Four Oaks; brother, Kenneth Terle McGee and wife, Debbie of Benson; numerous nieces and nephews.

    Mrs. Cox will lay in state on Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 12:30PM to 1:45PM prior to the service at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.

    In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Masks are required at all services.
