Amanda Neighbors Davis

    Amanda Neighbors Davis, 41, died unexpectedly at WakeMed, Raleigh, NC on September 2, 2021. Born December 21, 1979 in Hendersonville, North Carolina to Melinda Laughter Neighbors and the recently deceased Charles Benjamin Neighbors. She was preceded in death by grandparents Reverend George Richard and Jeannette Fowler Neighbors; and grandparents, John Columbus and Ruby Smith Laughter.

    Amanda attended Clayton High School and was a member of the Nazarene Church. She graduated from Johnston Community College as a CNA and then worked for the Johnston County School system and Toddler’s Inn Daycare in Clayton, North Carolina.

    Amanda loved her cats, the beach and traveling to Nashville and Hendersonville to visit family. She especially enjoyed being a baseball Mom for son Hunter’s baseball leagues for 10 years starting with Tee-ball. She inherited her father’s avid love of UNC and loved the musical group Alabama. In fact, her sister had bought Amanda tickets for the upcoming Alabama concert. Amanda was appreciated for her traditional contributions to the meals at holidays, birthdays and beach trips.

    Amanda is survived by her husband of 15 years, Timothy Davis and her son Hunter Davis of the home. She is also survived by her mother, Melinda Laughter Neighbors, sisters, Lauren Neighbors and Victoria Neighbors. Her many aunts and uncles grieve her untimely passing as do her many cousins, friends and co-workers.

    God came and got you, sweet girl, rest in peace in God’s Carolina Blue Heaven.

    A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 10, 2021 in Amplify Church, 2884 NC-42, Willow Spring, NC 27592. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Friday just prior to the service.
