Benson, NC: Mr. Andrew Mack Benson, age 84, of Elevation Road, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Memorial Services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at Steven’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, Benson. Officiating will be Rev. Pete Radford. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites.
Mr. Benson was born on November 24, 1935 in Wayne County to the late David Andrew and Martha Bass Benson. He was a retired brick mason and prison facility maintenance supervisor. Mr. Benson was a member of the Masonic Relief Lodge 431, American Legion Banner Post 109 in Benson and a member of Steven’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He was veteran of the US Marines.
Surviving include his wife of 64 years, Cynthia Martin Benson; children, Cindy Benson Webber and husband, Kenneth of Surfside Beach, SC, Flint Martin Benson and wife, Caroline of Benson, Blaine A. Benson and wife, Jacqueline of Panama City, FL; grandchildren, Tiffany Hofeling and husband, Berry, Tara Carson and husband, Nicolas, Kaitlin Highland and husband, Paul, Kandace Webber; great-grandchildren, Myriam Hofeling, Tabitha Hofeling, John Andrew Hofeling, and Jack Carson; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
