MICRO – Audrey Hope Watson Batten, age 92, died Friday evening, February 24, 2017 in the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born June 1, 1924 in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late John William and Sally Moore Watson. Audrey was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Clayton for many years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Stevens, Dr. Charles Ennis and the Rev. Dwayne Batten officiating. Burial will follow in the Kenly Cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, Edward Ruffin Batten, Sr.; sons, Edward Ruffin Batten, Jr. and wife Wanda of Selma, William Fred “Billy” Batten and wife Shelia of Kenly and Rev. Dwayne Batten and wife Debbie of Princeton; daughter, Janice Batten Crocker of Clayton; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
