Benson, NC: Mrs. Betsy Rose Hood, age 83, of Hood Grove Church Road passed away peacefully Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Monday, June 28, 2021 at Hood’s Grove Baptist Church in Newton Grove, NC. Officiating will be Revs. Bill West and Clayton Sutton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Hood was born on November 30, 1937 in Sampson County to the late Graham Warren and Bethel Sutton Rose. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Billy” Hood; and a brother, Kenneth Rose. Mrs. Hood taught 6th grade at Meadow Elementary School for 30 years and was a member of Hood’s Grove Baptist Church where she served in many different capacities.
Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Dunn and husband, Paul of Benson; son, Robert Hood and wife, Tracy of Benson; granddaughter, Caroline Hockaday and husband, Weston of Benson; brother, Harold Rose and wife, Gladys of Raleigh; Robert’s special niece, Candace Parker and husband, Jonathan of Newton Grove and their son, Macon; several nieces, nephews and beloved cousins.
Family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson on Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM and other times at the home.
