Betty Godwin Boykin, age 81, of Middlesex, passed away at her home on May 11, 2017 following a period of declining health. Born in Johnston County on September 8, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Willie and Estelle Eason Godwin. Betty was also preceded in death by her brother Billy Godwin. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at Antioch Baptist Church on Saturday, May 13, from 2:30 until 4:00. The funeral service will be in the church at 4:00 PM followed by burial in the church cemetery.
Surviving are her husband, Albert M. Boykin; son Scott Boykin and wife Lisa of Nashville; daughter Teresa Jernigan and husband Tim of Middlesex; sister Edith McGraw of Middlesex; grandchildren Michael Jernigan and wife Joy, Vickie Jernigan Williams and husband Michael, Courtney Boykin and Kaitlyn Boykin; and great grandchildren Micala, Austin and Hunter Jernigan, Brayden and Ava Kate Williams.
Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church Library or 3HC Hospice.
