Smithfield – Betty Gray Pender Allen, age 86, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in Duke Raleigh Hospital in Raleigh. Born September 6, 1931 in Wayne County she was a daughter of the late Leslie and Lola Hollowell Pender. She was preceded by her husband, Leon Allen; and sisters, Bernice Hill and Joyce Taylor. Betty was a member of Tee’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Smithfield.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, February 2, 2018 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday evening just prior to the service. Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday in Tee’s Chapel FWB Church Cemetery.
Surviving are her children, Warren Allen of Faison, Pamela Jones of Kenly, and Monty Allen husband Villamar Carreon of Kenly; sisters, Mary Ellen Hamm of Rosewood; grandchildren, Tracy Weston, Jeffrey Allen, Leslie Allen, Michelle Dove, Jeremy Jones, and Christopher Allen; and six great grandchildren.
