Smithfield- Billy Ray Mitchell, age 75, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 in UNC Johnston Health in Smithfield. Born September 8, 1941 in Johnston County he was a son of the late J.B. and Ida Webster. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mitchell; brother, Belvin Webster; and sister, Kay Toole.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 24, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
Surviving are his wife, Elaine Mitchell of Smithfield; son, Billy Ray Mitchell, Jr. of Kenly; daughter, Rose Stone and husband Randy of Smithfield; brother, Tom Webster and wife Nancy of Topsail Island; grandchildren, Mikey Leigh and wife Amy, Michelle Leigh and boyfriend Bo Elliott, and Dustin Mitchell; and great grandchildren, McKenzie Leigh, Skyler Elliott, and Samantha Elliott.
