Selma – Bobby Gene Moore, age 86, died Thursday, November 30, 2017 in the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Born November 10, 1931 in Johnston County he was a son of the late Maylon and Pearl Whitley Moore. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Scott Whaley; and sister, Mattie Pearl Aycock. Bobby was a member of Selma Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Norris and Rev. Jimmy Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Monday just prior to the service.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Moore of Selma; son, Steve Moore and wife Becky of Summerville, SC; daughter, Jean Campbell and husband Wayne of Smithfield; brother, Leon Moore and wife Marie of Clayton; sister, Connie Wilder of Clayton; grandchildren, Wesley Moore, Ashley Moore, Mallory Teachey, Marlana Burns, and Bryce Burns; great grandchildren, Kylee Whaley, Olivia Whaley, Jayden Moore, Peyton Moore, Cohen Teachey, and Conley Teachey; and special friend, Leon Goodman.
