Bonnie Bowen Tart, age 66, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 10th, 2019, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. She was born May 2nd, 1952, in Smithfield, to Wilbert and Ethel Bowen. She had been married to the love of her life, LeeRoy Tart, for 33 years. She worked as Administrator at BTI in Raleigh, NC for 18 years prior to becoming the housing Manager for many Senior Housing Facilities in the area for the last several years. Bonnie loved spending time with her daughter and grandchildren, thrift shopping, cooking, gardening and riding on the golf cart. Bonnie would go to any length for those she loved and all around her knew that. She was the best Nana and Mama in the entire world. She is survived by her husband, LeeRoy Tart; who was the most faithful and caring Husband in times of sickness and health; a daughter, Dawn and her husband, Derek; Four Grandchildren, Dillon, Delaney, Dalton and Deacon Parker whom she loved and adored; and nephew Ray Collins, Jr; and one Yorkie, Stormie; and many friends that were like family to her. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Ray Collins and Catherine Dupree. Family, friends, and others whose lives Bonnie touched are invited to Broken Wing Fellowship, 1837 East Garner Road, Raleigh, North Carolina at 1pm for visitation and 2pm for a celebration of her life on Saturday, January 12, 2019, to reminisce, grieve, support each other and fellowship. The Family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Family and Friends, and to the caregivers at Duke Raleigh Oncology, JMH Clayton, and SECU Hospice House.
