    Selma – Bonita Kay “Bonnie” Vann Capps, age 67, died Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at her home. Born March 5, 1952 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Willie Christopher and Ruby Kathryn Phelps Vann. Bonnie was a 1970 graduate of North Johnston High School and was retired after 36 years, as the office manager for Smithfield Manor. She was a member of Selma Original FWB Church and a former EMT with the Micro Volunteer Fire Department for many years. Bonnie was a loving daughter, wife, mother, and nana. Her other roles were aunt, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, and friend. She loved her family and always put herself aside to meet their needs. She was always involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s activities and was their biggest fan. She always seemed to know a lot about everything. She never forgot a birthday or occasion and looked forward to spending time with her family. Last year, she celebrated 50 years with her husband, Larry; a milestone that she was so proud of. She will be greatly missed
    Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2019 in Princeton Church of God with Rev. Matthew Cornett officiating. Burial will follow in Selma Memorial Gardens in Selma. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.
    Surviving are her husband, Larry Capps; son, Chris V. Capps and wife Nikki of Princeton; daughter, Angela Capps Merritt and husband Johnny of Hookerton; and grandchildren, Jonathan Cole Merritt, Grant Michael Capps, Alec Christopher Merritt, Dakota Vann Capps, and Tinsley Nicole Capps.
