Benson, NC: Mrs. Brenda Kaye Lee Ledford, age 70, of 87 Massengill Pond Road died Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at UNC Chapel Hill Hospital. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Benson Grove Baptist Church in Benson. Officiating will be Dr. Billy Cashwell and Rev. Joseph Earp. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Ledford was born on March 21, 1948 in Harnett County to the late William Ransom and Velma Parker Lee. She was the owner and operator of Deese’s BBQ and Seafood in Smithfield for many years and was the general manager of Denny’s in Selma. Mrs. Ledford was a member of Benson Grove Baptist Church in Benson.
Surviving include her husband of 21 years, Dennis Fritzy Ledford; daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Danny McLamb of Newton Grove; grandson, Thomas Bailey Underwood, III and wife, Megan of Richmond, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Melba and Wilson Coats of Benson; niece, Kathy Woodall of Benson; nephew, Eddie Davis and wife, Dawn of Dunn; step-sons; Brian Ledford of Wilmington, Wesley Ledford and wife, Cecila of Smithfield; step-grandson, Dyland Ledford of Smithfield; sister-in-law, Denise Leonard and husband, Bill of Duncannon, PA; four step-nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday March 1, 2019 at Rose & Graham Funeral Home, Benson and other times at the home.
