Coats, NC: Mr. Carlie Young Stevens, age 88, of Abattoir Road died Monday at Harnett Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dunn. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Thursday at Coats Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Jesse Mooney and Rev. Jimmy Newkirk. Burial will follow in Harnett Devotional Gardens, Dunn.
Mr. Stevens was born August16, 1928 in Harnett County to the late Otha and Flonnie Stewart Stevens. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Gregory Stevens; sisters, Virgie S. Taylor and Maude S. Williams; and brothers, Earl Stevens and Delma Stevens. He was a retired ASCS officer where he worked for over 30 years. Mr. Stevens was a member and a past deacon of Coats Baptist Church and served in many capacities.
Surviving are sons & daughters-in-law, Greg & Bethany Stevens, Doug & Sharon Stevens, and Danny & Katie Stevens, all of Coats; grandchildren & spouses, Charlie & Beth Stevens, Natalie S. & Jerry Clark, Clint & Allyson Stevens, Kandi S. & Kevin Tudor, Colby Stevens, Leah & Justin Richardson, Carrie Martin & Tim Martin; and 11 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Coats from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Wednesday and other times at the home of Kandi & Kevin Tudor, 3729 Abattoir Road, Coats, NC which is across the road from the homeplace.
