Benson, NC: Mrs. Cathy Morgan Peacock, age 66, of Hannah Creek Road, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Funeral Services will be 2:00PM-Monday, November 30, 2020 at the Rose and Graham Funeral Chapel in Benson. Burial will follow in Banner Chapel Church Cemetery. Rev. Gene Bruton will officiate.
Mrs. Peacock was born on July 3, 1954 in Johnston County to the late Sherwood “Tom” Morgan and Katie Mae Johnson Morgan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Edwin Peacock. Mrs. Peacock was a graduate of South Johnston High School and earned her pre-law degree from Campbell University. She retired from Chicopee and was a farmer and homemaker. Mrs. Peacock attended Light of Christ Church in Smithfield. Cathy was known for her prayer shawl ministry and enjoyed knitting for others.
Surviving include her children, Ronnie “Edwin” Peacock and wife, Kim of Meadow; William Michael Peacock and wife, Krystal of Benson; grandchildren, Connor Peacock, Audrey Peacock and Caleb Peacock; brother, Sonny Morgan and wife, Dianna of Meadow; sister-in-law, Brenda McLamb and husband Timmy of Benson; several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Peacock will be available for viewing and you may sign the register book from 9:00AM-1:45PM on Monday, November 30, 2020 at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson. The family will not be present during this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Light of Christ Church 2735 Buffalo Road, Smithfield, NC 27577or to the SECU Hospice House PO Box 1376, Smithfield, NC 27577.
In accordance with NC-COVID19 guidelines, the funeral home suggests practicing social distancing guidelines and the three W’s: wait, wash, and wear a face covering. Face coverings are required for all services.
