SELMA – Charles Ronald Watson, age 85, died Friday, April 7, 2017 in WakeMed of Raleigh. Born December 28, 1931 in Halifax County, he was a son of the late Carl Andrew and Addie Lee Davis Watson. At a young age his family moved to Johnston County, where he spent the rest of his life as an educator in the public schools. Ronald was a US Marine veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Live Oak Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Anderson and the Rev. Tom Lilly officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private graveside service, with military honors, will be conducted in the Sullivan Family Cemetery near the home.
Surviving are his wife, Ailine Sullivan Watson; daughter, Erica Lilly-Bugg and husband Chad Bugg of Clayton; son, Dane Watson and wife Reneé of Kenly; three grandchildren, Ashley Young and husband Brandon of Selma, Tanner Lilly of Selma and Brittany Watson of Sacramento, CA and four great grandchildren, Kendall Young, Karsen Young, Nicole Johnson and Nicholas Johnson.
