Christine Collier Barnes, 77, passed away on Thursday morning at UNC Rex Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Christine was born in Wilson County on September 8, 1941 to the late Lester Perry and Juanita Gay Collier. She was married to the late James Harold Barnes. She was a member of the Holly Springs Original Free Will Baptist Church. Christine will be remembered for her love of baking cakes whether it may be for a special event or as a gift to a friend, she took great pleasure in making them. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be truly missed by her family and church family.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Kenly Funeral Service. A service to remember her life will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. by the graveside at Holly Springs Original Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Jones officiating.
Christine is survived by her son, Billy Harold Barnes and wife Kim of Kenly; daughters, Tammy B. Carrea and husband Ron of Holly Springs, and Violet Starling and husband Ricky of Kenly; grandchildren, Marty Parnell and wife Carla, Stephanie Carrea, AJ Carrea, Ciarra Barnes, Dustin Barnes and Evan Barnes; great grandchildren Erica Parnell, Jessica Parnell, Olivia Parnell, and Owen Ahl; sisters, Linda Daniels of Pine Tops, and Joyce Ann Wells of Wilson.
